 Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 2026

1. Who we are

Skilled Job Traders is operated by Skilled Job Traders LTD, trading as Skilled Job Traders.

- Company number: 17261782

- Registered office: 71–75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom

- Email: info@skilledjobtraders.com

In these Terms, "Skilled Job Traders", "we", "us" and "our" mean Skilled Job Traders LTD.

2. Definitions

In these Terms:

- Homeowner means a user looking for trade services. The label does not require the user to own the property and may include an authorised tenant, landlord or representative.

- Consumer means an individual acting for purposes wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession.

- Trader means a person or business using the Platform for purposes relating to their trade, business, craft or profession to advertise services, access Job information or seek work opportunities.

- Platform means the Skilled Job Traders website, member areas, Job-posting functions, Trader profiles, review functions and related services operated by us.

- Job means a request for trade services posted by a Homeowner.

- Job Contract means any agreement made directly between a Homeowner and a Trader for trade services.

- User Content means any profile, Job, image, review, report, description or other content submitted to the Platform by a user.

3. Acceptance, age and account eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract to create an account or use member functions.

A Homeowner must actively accept these Terms during registration. A Trader must actively accept these Terms during registration. We may record the date and version accepted.

The Privacy Policy explains our processing of personal data and is provided as information; accepting these Terms is not blanket consent to data processing.

Email verification is required before a user can access protected Platform functions, including viewing fuller Trader profiles, Jobs, reviews or protected Trader contact details, expressing interest, publishing User Content or submitting a review. An anonymous Trader listing may be viewed without an account.

If you create an account or purchase a membership for a business, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that business.

Trader accounts and memberships are for business use only. By registering as a Trader, you confirm that you act for purposes relating to your trade, business, craft or profession and not as a consumer.

You must provide complete and accurate information, keep it updated, keep login credentials secure and notify us promptly at info@skilledjobtraders.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

You must not create duplicate or false accounts, impersonate another person or business, evade a suspension, share an account without authority, scrape the Platform, misuse contact details, send spam, interfere with security or use the Platform unlawfully or fraudulently.

4. What the Platform does

The Platform helps Homeowners and Traders find and contact each other. Homeowners may post Jobs. Email-verified registered Traders may view open Job information and express interest. Homeowners and Traders then communicate directly by phone or email. The Platform does not currently provide internal messaging.

Logged-out visitors may view anonymous Trader listings but cannot view the Trader's displayed name, profile photo, email address, phone number, Jobs or reviews. They may be redirected to registration or login when attempting to access protected content or functions.

We do not carry out trade work, prepare or approve quotes, employ or appoint Traders for Homeowners, supervise work, collect payment for Job Contracts, or determine the price or terms of a Job Contract.

Each Job Contract is made directly between the Homeowner and the Trader. We are not a party to that contract and neither user has authority to bind us.

Nothing in these Terms removes or limits a responsibility that applicable law imposes on us in relation to operating the Platform.

5. Important notice: Traders are not independently verified

Skilled Job Traders currently verifies a Trader's email address but does not independently verify, vet, inspect, approve, endorse or recommend Traders.

Unless a particular item is expressly labelled as checked by Skilled Job Traders, we do not independently check a Trader's identity, business address, experience, references, qualifications, registrations, licences, insurance, financial standing, competence, suitability, pricing, availability or quality of work.

Trader profile information, including any qualification, registration, insurance or experience claim, is supplied by the Trader and is self-declared — not independently verified.

Email verification, account-security checks, automated anti-spam measures, receipt of a Trader declaration, review moderation and action taken after a report do not amount to verification or approval of that Trader.

A trade category, profile, review, rating, expression of interest or Platform interaction is not confirmation that a Trader is qualified, registered, insured, competent, suitable, safe to hire or legally permitted to perform a particular Job.

Homeowners must carry out appropriate independent checks before hiring a Trader, permitting access to property, authorising work or making payment. Section 6 explains those checks.

6. Homeowner responsibilities and safety checks

Homeowners may use the Platform without a Platform fee.

When creating an account or posting a Job, a Homeowner confirms that:

- the information is accurate and not misleading;

- the Homeowner is the owner, occupier or otherwise authorised to request work at the property;

- the Homeowner has permission to upload every image and item of information submitted;

- no house or flat number, access code, key, alarm information, financial data, identity document or unnecessary information about another person is included;

- the Homeowner understands the staged disclosure described in section 9; and

- the Homeowner will close or delete the Job when expressions of interest are no longer wanted.

Before hiring a Trader, admitting them to a property, authorising work or making payment, a Homeowner should check as appropriate:

- the identity of the person attending and the legal identity and contact details of the business;

- recent references and relevant experience;

- a written scope, price, payment schedule and cancellation terms;

- public liability insurance and, where relevant, employers' liability or professional insurance;

- qualifications, registrations, licences, permits and trade-body claims;

- who will perform the work, including employees and subcontractors; and

- any planning permission, Building Regulations approval, landlord consent, freeholder consent or other permission required for the proposed work in the relevant UK nation.

For work involving gas appliances, gas boilers, gas fittings or gas pipework, check both the business and attending engineer on the Gas Safe Register and check that the engineer's current Gas Safe ID card covers the specific type of work. A person may perform non-gas wet work on heating pipework without being Gas Safe registered, but must not undertake regulated gas work unless legally authorised.

For electrical installation work, check the proposed inspection, certification and Building Regulations route before work starts. Requirements differ according to the work and UK nation.

Do not rely only on a profile, rating, review, trade category or document supplied through the Platform. Independently confirm important information with the relevant register, insurer, issuer or authority.

7. Trader responsibilities

A Trader is an independent business and is solely responsible for its services, staff, subcontractors, advertising, quotes, Job Contracts, work, tax, insurance and legal compliance.

By registering, maintaining a profile, selecting a trade category or expressing interest in a Job, the Trader confirms on an ongoing basis that:

- its identity, business details, profile, trade categories, service areas and communications are accurate, current and not misleading;

- it is legally permitted and competent to advertise and perform every service it offers;

- it holds every qualification, registration, licence, permission, approval and insurance required for that service and location;

- every employee, worker, agent and subcontractor used for a Job is legally permitted, competent and appropriately supervised;

- it will not claim qualifications, registrations, memberships, approvals, insurance, experience or awards that it does not hold;

- it will promptly correct or remove information that becomes inaccurate or expires;

- it will provide Homeowners with its legal business identity and other information required by law;

- it will comply with consumer protection, health and safety, data protection, environmental, waste, planning and Building Regulations requirements applicable to its work; and

- it will issue any legally required quote, contract information, cancellation information, invoice, test certificate, compliance certificate, notification or guarantee.

A Trader must not use a general category such as Plumber, Handyman, Builder, Central Heating or Boiler Services to imply authority to perform regulated work that the Trader is not legally permitted to perform.

8. Trade categories and regulated or safety-sensitive work

The Platform currently offers these organisational categories:

- Plumber

- Electrician

- Builder

- Painter

- Handyman

- Central Heating

- Boiler Services

- Bathrooms

- Carpenter

- Gardener

- Roofer

- Plasterer

- Tiler

- Landscaper

- Driveways

- Fencing and Gates

- Tree Surgeon

- Locksmith

Category names organise Jobs, profiles and email alerts. They are not qualifications, approvals or guarantees from Skilled Job Traders.

Without limiting section 7:

- Gas work: A Trader must not offer or perform work within applicable gas-safety legislation unless the relevant business and operative are properly registered and the operative's current registration covers the appliance and work.

- Electrical work: A Trader must be competent for the work, comply with applicable electrical safety and Building Regulations requirements, follow the required inspection, testing, certification and notification route, and make no false claim of scheme membership.

- Building, roofing and refurbishment work: A Trader must identify and comply with applicable planning, Building Regulations, structural safety, scaffolding, work-at-height, asbestos and hazardous-material requirements. Work requiring a licence must be performed by a properly licensed contractor.

- Driveways, landscaping, fencing and tree work: A Trader must obtain or confirm any permission relating to highways, dropped kerbs, drainage, planning, protected trees, conservation areas, felling or land ownership before carrying out affected work.

- Waste: A Trader transporting or controlling trade waste must comply with applicable waste-duty-of-care and carrier-registration requirements.

- Locksmith work: A Trader must take reasonable steps to confirm that the person requesting entry, lock replacement or security work has lawful authority. The Platform must not be used to facilitate unlawful entry, surveillance or interference with property.

If a Trader is uncertain whether a registration, licence, notification or permission is required, it must obtain advice from the relevant regulator or a competent professional before offering or starting the work.

9. Job visibility, expressions of interest and contact details

All email-verified registered Traders may currently browse every open Job, regardless of their selected trade category or service area.

Before expressing interest, a Trader may see:

- the Homeowner's supplied name;

- the partial postcode district, such as NW1;

- Job images;

- the Job description;

- Job status and date posted; and

- the trade category selected by the Homeowner.

The complete postcode, phone number and email address are not visible at that stage.

When a Trader expresses interest:

- the Homeowner's complete postcode, phone number and email address are automatically made available to that Trader; and

- the Homeowner receives an email stating that the Trader is interested and containing the Trader's phone number and email address.

Multiple Traders may express interest and receive the information until the Homeowner closes or deletes the Job. Expressions of interest and contact revelations are subject to security checks, rate limits, fair-use controls and anti-abuse measures. Membership does not guarantee an unlimited technical request rate or protection from proportionate controls designed to prevent scraping, spam or mass harvesting.

A Trader may use Homeowner information only to respond to the specific Job and manage any resulting Job Contract. The Trader must protect it, retain it only as long as lawfully necessary and must not sell, scrape, publish, share or use it for unrelated marketing without a valid lawful basis and any consent required by electronic-marketing rules.

Once a Trader receives Homeowner information for its own business purposes, the Trader is independently responsible for complying with data-protection law.

Deleting a Job removes it from active Platform access but cannot recall information already received or independently recorded by a Trader.

10. Quotes, Job Contracts and payments for work

Homeowners and Traders communicate and contract directly. The Trader, not Skilled Job Traders, is the supplier of any trade service.

The parties should agree in writing, before work begins:

- the Trader's legal identity and contact details;

- the work and materials included and excluded;

- total price or the method of calculating it;

- deposit, stage-payment and final-payment terms;

- start date, estimated duration and access arrangements;

- responsibility for permissions, waste and making good;

- cancellation rights and cancellation charges;

- insurance, guarantees and certificates; and

- how changes and complaints will be handled.

Skilled Job Traders does not collect deposits or payment for trade work. Never send money merely because someone has contacted you through the Platform. Users should consider appropriate payment protections and should not pay a large advance without checking the Trader and understanding the risk.

Nothing in these Terms affects statutory rights a Homeowner may have against a Trader.

11. Trader trial, membership and Platform payments

The 30-day Trader trial begins only when the Trader, after seeing the on-screen trial notice, first selects the control to reveal a Homeowner's contact details.

No payment card is required to start the trial. The trial does not automatically convert into a paid membership. After it ends, the Trader must actively purchase a membership to continue using paid Trader functions.

The current membership price is GBP 30 per month. No VAT is currently charged because Skilled Job Traders is not currently VAT registered. If VAT becomes chargeable or the price changes, we will give notice in accordance with section 23 before the change applies to an existing membership.

A paid membership renews automatically every month using the selected payment method until cancelled.

A Trader may cancel through the My Subscription page or by emailing info@skilledjobtraders.com before the next renewal is processed. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period and access continues until then unless the account is suspended for breach or security reasons.

Except where law requires otherwise, fees already paid are not refunded merely because the Trader did not use the Platform, did not obtain work, changed their mind or cancelled part-way through a billing period. If we end a paid membership without cause before the end of a paid period, or the Platform materially fails because of of our own technical error, we will provide an appropriate refund for the affected period. This does not limit any refund required by law.

Payments are handled by Wix Payments or another provider identified at checkout. We do not store full card details.

12. Access to Jobs, matching, ordering and data

Membership permits access to available Platform functions; it does not purchase a lead, Job, response, appointment, income or particular position in a list.

The Platform does not currently restrict a Trader's browsing access by trade or service area: all email-verified registered Traders may browse all open Jobs.

Job-alert emails are matched to the trade category selected by the Homeowner. A Trader ordinarily receives an alert only for a Job in the category selected on that Trader's account, but the Trader may browse Jobs in other categories after logging in.

Where Jobs, profiles or results are displayed in an order, ordinary parameters may include date posted, current status and available display or search controls. No payment currently purchases priority ordering, prominence or a recommendation. If paid placement or another commercial influence is introduced, it will be clearly labelled and these Terms will be updated.

While an account is active, a user can access the information made available through the relevant account pages and Platform functions. After account deletion or termination, ordinary account access ends. Any legal right to obtain personal data is handled under the Privacy Policy.

We do not currently give Traders access to another Trader's private account, trial, payment or Platform-activity data. Traders receive Homeowner information only as described in section 9.

We may apply proportionate security, capacity, rate-limit, fair-use and anti-abuse controls, including controls intended to stop scraping, spam, mass contact revelation or duplicate trials.

13. Reviews policy

13.1 How reviews are collected and checked

Only an email-verified Homeowner account may submit a review. A Homeowner does not need to have posted a Job through the Platform, and Skilled Job Traders does not independently verify that work occurred or require evidence before ordinary publication.

The review function allows one review per Homeowner account for each Trader. The ordinary interface does not permit deletion and reposting to evade that limit. A reviewer may contact us to request correction or removal.

A review consists of a star rating and written text. All reviews must:

- reflect a genuine personal experience or interaction with the Trader;

- be honest and not misleading;

- not have been submitted in exchange for payment, a discount, a gift, free work or another incentive; and

- comply with this reviews policy.

Reviews are user statements and are not independently verified by Skilled Job Traders. A review, rating or aggregate score is not an endorsement or guarantee.

13.2 Genuine reviews only

A review must:

- be submitted through a genuine Homeowner account;

- describe the reviewer's genuine experience or interaction with the Trader;

- be honest, relevant and not misleading; and

- distinguish facts from opinion.

A review does not need to be positive. Genuine, relevant and lawful negative reviews are treated according to the same criteria as positive reviews.

13.3 Prohibited review activity

Users must not submit, commission, arrange, procure, buy, sell or facilitate:

- a fake review;

- a review by the Trader, its owner, staff, family member or agent about that Trader;

- a review submitted by a competitor to damage another Trader;

- a review concerning an experience or interaction that did not occur;

- an incentivised review, whether or not the incentive is disclosed;

- coordinated review manipulation;

- false or misleading review information;

- a threat or pressure intended to prevent a genuine negative review; or

- a review containing unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, defamatory or unnecessary personal information.

Traders must not offer money, discounts, gifts, free work or any other benefit in exchange for a review and must not condition complaint resolution on removal or alteration of a review.

13.4 Prevention, detection and investigation

We take reasonable and proportionate steps to prevent and remove banned reviews and misleading review information. Depending on the risk, those steps may include:

- requiring an email-verified Homeowner account;

- limiting each Homeowner account to one review per Trader;

- comparing a review with relevant account and Platform-interaction records;

- monitoring duplicate content, linked accounts, unusual patterns and repeated activity;

- carrying out proportionate spot checks;

- considering reports from users or other people;

- asking the reviewer or Trader for information reasonably needed to investigate; and

- reviewing the effectiveness of our controls and updating them where needed.

We do not promise that every published review is accurate.

13.5 Moderation and publication

We apply the same moderation criteria to positive and negative reviews. A negative review will not be removed merely because the Trader disputes it, complains about it or resolves the underlying problem.

We may reject, restrict, flag or remove a review where we reasonably conclude that it breaches this policy or applicable law. We will not edit a review in a way that changes its meaning.

Where a fake or misleading review has affected a rating, count, ordering or other review information, we will take reasonable steps to correct that effect. A removed review's star rating will be removed from the Trader's aggregate score.

13.6 Reports, outcomes and sanctions

Anyone may report a suspected fake or prohibited review using an available report control or by emailing info@skilledjobtraders.com with the review and reason.

Possible outcomes include no action, a request for information, a warning, removal of a review, correction of ratings, restriction of review functions, suspension or termination. Repeated or serious manipulation may result in account termination.

A reviewer or Trader affected by a moderation decision may use the complaint process in section 16.

14. User Content and acceptable use

You are responsible for User Content you submit and must have all rights and permissions needed to submit it.

Jobs, profile material and reviews are ordinarily made available after the user selects Submit and are not individually approved by us in advance. Automated security, spam, file-type, malware and abuse checks may apply. We may investigate, restrict or remove content after submission.

The Platform currently permits images, not document or video uploads, in the relevant Job and profile-image functions.

User Content must not:

- be illegal or facilitate illegal activity;

- be fraudulent, materially misleading or impersonate another person or business;

- threaten, harass, stalk, intimidate or incite violence or hatred;

- exploit or sexually abuse any person or include child sexual abuse material;

- promote terrorism, unlawful weapons, controlled drugs, human trafficking or other criminal activity;

- disclose private information, identity documents, financial information, house or flat numbers, keys, access codes or security vulnerabilities without authority;

- be defamatory, discriminatory, obscene or seriously abusive;

- infringe copyright, trade marks, privacy, confidentiality or other rights;

- contain malware, phishing, spam or instructions intended to compromise security; or

- advertise a service that the Trader is not legally permitted or competent to provide.

Do not upload images of children or identifiable people unless genuinely necessary, lawful and authorised. Do not upload photographs containing more personal information than is needed for the Job.

15. Content moderation, reporting and appeals

Users can report User Content, an account or conduct using an available report control or by emailing info@skilledjobtraders.com. Reports should identify the content or account, and explain the concern. If there is an immediate danger, contact the emergency services rather than waiting for a Platform response.

We assess reports according to seriousness, urgency, applicable law, these Terms and the risk to users. We may:

- leave content available;

- ask for information;

- reduce visibility or temporarily restrict content while investigating;

- remove content;

- warn, restrict, suspend or terminate an account; or

- report information to a regulator, safeguarding body or law-enforcement authority where lawful and appropriate.

We aim to acknowledge ordinary Platform complaints within five business days and provide a reasoned outcome within 20 business days, although urgent or complex matters may take a different period. Illegal-content and immediate-safety reports are prioritised.

An affected user may challenge a moderation, restriction, suspension or termination decision by emailing info@skilledjobtraders.com. We will review the challenge fairly and communicate the outcome on a durable medium such as email.

Where section 72 of the Online Safety Act 2023 applies, a user may have a right to bring a claim for breach of contract if we remove or restrict that user's content, or suspend or ban the user, in breach of these Terms.

16. Complaints about the Platform or a Trader

Complaints and reviews are different. A review is intended for publication; a complaint asks us to investigate the Platform, User Content or a user's continuing suitability to use it.

You may complain by:

- emailing info@skilledjobtraders.com;

- using an available report form; or

- writing to 71–75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.

Please provide your contact details, the relevant account, Job or review, what happened, the outcome sought and any supporting information.

We may investigate complaints about Platform operation, account misuse, misleading profile information, prohibited review activity, safety concerns or repeated patterns of poor conduct. We may request information from the parties and take proportionate action under these Terms.

We do not adjudicate workmanship claims, determine payment liability or act as a court, ombudsman or mediator for a Job Contract. A Homeowner and Trader remain responsible for resolving their Job Contract dispute and using any applicable court, ombudsman, competent-person scheme, insurer, trade body, Trading Standards or alternative dispute-resolution process.

Even where we cannot decide a Job Contract dispute, we may consider the information when assessing Platform misuse or whether an account should remain on the Platform.

A complaint specifically concerning our processing of personal data is handled under the data-protection complaints section of the Privacy Policy.

17. Restriction, suspension and termination

We may restrict particular content or functions, suspend an account or terminate access for reasons including:

- a material or repeated breach of these Terms;

- false identity or materially misleading account, qualification or business information;

- advertising or performing work without a legally required registration, licence, permission or competence;

- fake reviews or review manipulation;

- misuse of contact details, spam, scraping or duplicate-trial abuse;

- fraud, attempted fraud, non-payment or chargeback abuse;

- illegal content or activity;

- a credible risk to users, the Platform or information security;

- a legal or regulatory requirement; or

- discontinuation of the Platform or relevant service.

Where the Online Intermediation Services Regulation applies to a Trader:

- for restriction or suspension, we will provide a statement of reasons on a durable medium before or when the action takes effect, except where law prohibits this;

- for termination of the whole service, we will ordinarily provide the statement of reasons at least 30 days before termination takes effect; and

- the 30-day period may not apply where a legal or regulatory obligation requires immediate action, there is an urgent safety or cybersecurity reason, there is a right to terminate immediately under applicable law, or the Trader has repeatedly breached these Terms.

We may take immediate proportionate protective action while investigating fraud, illegal content, safety or security concerns.

The affected user may clarify the facts and challenge the decision through section 16. If access is restored, we will reinstate relevant data and access where reasonable and technically feasible.

A user may close an account at any time, subject to payment obligations and lawful retention described in the Privacy Policy.

18. Intellectual property and licence to use User Content

The Platform, software, design, branding, logos and content created by us belong to us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law.

You retain ownership of User Content. By submitting it, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format, display and communicate it only as reasonably necessary to:

- operate and provide the Platform;

- display the Job, profile or review as requested;

- communicate between relevant users;

- moderate, investigate and protect the Platform;

- maintain backups and records; and

- comply with law.

The licence lasts while the content is available and for any further period reasonably needed for backups, disputes, legal obligations or enforcement. We will not sell your User Content as our own.

You may use the Platform only for its intended purpose. You must not copy, reverse-engineer, exploit or misuse the Platform or branding without permission, except to the extent applicable law does not permit that restriction.

19. Privacy and storage technologies

We process personal data in accordance with the Skilled Job Traders Privacy Policy.

We use cookies, browser storage and similar technologies in accordance with the Skilled Job Traders Cookie Policy.

The Privacy Policy is information about processing; it is not a request for blanket consent. Where consent is required for a particular purpose, we request it separately.

20. Third-party services

The Platform uses third-party services, including Wix, Wix Payments, communications, security and technical providers. Their services may be subject to separate terms and privacy information.

We are not responsible for the independent content or conduct of a third-party website merely because the Platform links to it. This does not exclude responsibility for our own breach, negligence or misleading statement, or any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.

21. Availability and changes to the service

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may maintain, secure, improve, restrict or discontinue functions for technical, legal, security, capacity or business reasons.

Where reasonably possible, we will give notice of a material planned change or discontinuation that significantly affects paid Trader use. Emergency maintenance, security action or a legal requirement may take effect without advance notice.

22. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or statutory rights that cannot be excluded.

If you are a Consumer, we are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill in providing the Platform. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable when the Platform contract began or for business loss.

Because we are not a party to a Job Contract, we are not responsible merely because a Trader or Homeowner:

- fails to respond or attend;

- gives an inaccurate quote;

- performs poor, unsafe, delayed or incomplete work;

- damages property;

- fails to pay or refund money;

- misrepresents information directly; or

- otherwise breaches a Job Contract.

The previous paragraph does not apply to the extent loss was caused by our own breach of these Terms, negligence, unlawful conduct or misleading representation, or where responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.

For Traders, to the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, anticipated savings, opportunity, goodwill, reputation or indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the Platform. We do not guarantee any number, quality or value of Jobs, leads, responses or contracts.

Each user is responsible for taking reasonable steps to reduce avoidable loss.

23. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms for legal, regulatory, security, technical, payment or operational reasons.

We will publish the updated Terms and revision date. We will give registered users direct notice of a material change where appropriate.

Where the Online Intermediation Services Regulation applies to a Trader, we will normally give at least 15 days' notice of a change on a durable medium. We will give a longer reasonable period where the change requires significant technical or commercial adjustment. The notice period may not apply where we must make an urgent change to comply with law or address unforeseen fraud, malware, spam, a data breach or another cybersecurity risk.

A Trader may stop using the Platform before a notified change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where the law permits.

24. Notices and communications

We may send account, email-verification, Job-alert, expression-of-interest, security, payment, complaint and Terms notices to the email address associated with an account. These are service communications, not general promotional marketing.

You must keep that address current.

Notices are treated as received when sent, unless we receive a delivery-failure notice. This does not affect any mandatory rule about service of legal documents.

25. Account and content deletion

A user may delete an account through the Account Settings Page/My Profile Page or contact us for assistance.

Deleting an account ends access and ordinarily removes the account, profile, Jobs and Job images from the active Platform. Exceptions, including the duplicate-trial record for Traders, payment and accounting records, complaint and safety records, backups, legal claims and retained reviews, are explained in the Privacy Policy.

A retained review associated with a deleted Homeowner account should no longer display the deleted account's name. Deleting a Job cannot recall information already received by an interested Trader.

26. General terms

If a court finds part of these Terms unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining parts continue in effect.

A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of that right.

You may not transfer a Trader account or membership without our written consent. We may transfer our rights and obligations as part of a lawful reorganisation, sale or transfer of the Platform, provided this does not reduce a Consumer's mandatory rights.

These Terms, together with any policies expressly incorporated into them, set out the agreement between us concerning use of the Platform. They do not replace a Job Contract between a Homeowner and Trader.

27. Governing law and courts

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a Trader, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory law that applies otherwise.

If you are a Consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts where you live.

28. Contact
